Fun pictures from Georgia!

Letter dated 24Jan2022

Dear people to whom I hold great respect and appreciation, This week was pretty cool! We taught a chef from serbia, a family from Ghana, and man married to a member who is grew up in Germany and is fluent in Spanish. Anyways, it is cool to see such diversity in our teaching pool! Other than that since my last update I visited the temple and had a zone pday which was freaking great. I also got a second set of x-rays for my foot and they discovered that it is still broken. Jokes aside I will be walking with a cane and a hard shoe for the next 5 week now so that I don't completely ruin my toe. They also recommended that I don't walk alot... as a missionary, this is the one thing I do. I am not dismayed however! It is going to be awesome feeling like a older man for the next bit so I can say I have grown up alot on the mission. Here are some pictures and love y'all lots! Good day friends and family, These last two weeks have been crazy because I have not had a preparation day until today! Since the last time I was able to write (Jan 3) a lot has happened. I had a zone conference, I got out of quarantine, I was not given a pday last Monday because I was supposed to go to the temple later that week, I got emergency transferred COMPLETELY out of the blue on that same Monday which was not my pday, I came to a completely new area called the paper mill ward, my new comps are also awesome, I broke my toe with an ax, I went to Golden Corral for the first time (so good!), church was canceled due to minimal snow, I almost broke into an x-ray room, I got my toe x-rayed thus verifying that I broke it, went on exchanges with the assistants, went on exchanges with the zone leaders, went on exchanges with elder tymochenko, and played an awesome board game with my comps! First of all zone conference was fantastic! We discussed the importance of receiving and developing spiritual gifts and using these gifts to help others. Particularly we have been asked to develop the gift of charity. I know that it is often hard to consistently be charitable or to always love others, but as I have prayed about this spiritual gift and have begun striving for it I have seen some extraordinarily sweet blessings from trying to live with more charity. Getting out of quarantine was really nice. Monday the tenth was a very emotional day for me. It was not my pday since I was supposed to go to the temple later that week so we scheduled several lessons and meetings for that day. That same morning we got the call that I was being emergency transferred from the Chestatee/Azalea area to the paper mill area that same day. We had to quickly pack my bags in between visits and it was a wild rush of visiting friends, members, and having some very tear filled goodbyes to everyone. I grew so close to my brothers and sisters in Chestatee and Azalea and I didn't want to say goodbye. In any case the Lord needed me in my new area when I came because I have seen countless blessing in the papermill area so far. One of them oddly enough is that I broke my toe. During service one day we were cutting wood and at one point I hit a crooked log which redirected my aim directly to my foot. I found out on Monday that I broke my toe after attempting to find an urgent care with a good x-ray machine. With this toe, I have had to walk slower which allows me to talk to more people that pass me by which has been a cool and painful miracle. Recently me and my companions have gotten into a game called betrayal at the house on the hill which is super fun I highly recommend to people who love board games and who moderately enjoy board games Love you all, Elder Nicholas Nephi William Schindler

December/January pictures

Description of pictures - 3Jan22

Just to explain these images for the most part these are just festive holiday/birthday pictures! The others are either images of me cutting bricks and becoming a stone mason or my time in quarantine. The last set of images are of a letter I drew for one of our two of the families who fed us during quarantine. Thank you all so much and have a lovely new year!

Letter dated 3Jan2022

Dear literally everyone since its been like almost a month since I wrote anyone!!! 😢😢😢, These last several week have been WILD! I turned 20 years old, had my first Christmas in Georgia, had my first new years in Georgia, started 2022 which will be the year I'm a missionary the entire year (or a black out year if you want to use missionary lingo), and to top it all off I got Covid-19 last week (yay😔). Since December 13 I have seen many miracles in the work particularly on the week of Christmas as we shared the Joy of the world with all and as we helped those in need. We talked with the lonely, helped the helpless, and loved the broken hearten it was truly an unforgettable Christmas. We were allowed to watch It's a Wonderful Life which was cool too. For all the people who sent presents, messages, or wished me a happy birthday thank you so much! Then suddenly, when the world was bright and shining and there was little to worry about and fear, covid reared its filthy head and shut our companionship up inside for the new year. So far quarantine has been alright. It has been a lot of sneezing, coughing, headaches, nausea, and drowsiness but I am beginning to recover and feel better! Hopefully I don't catch it again as I continue to do missionary work. Love you all much and I hope this next week is a little more interesting! Sincerely, Elder Nicholas Nephi William Schindler
