Letter dated October 25, 2021

Dear friends and family, I do not have a ton of time to write and I am feeling pretty sick today, but I will attempt to do an adequate job of describing the week. We have had some awesome visits with the members in the ward and it is so nice to be able to get to know them and help them out with everything they needed. One of the highlights of the week was our lesson with a wonderful man named John Whaley. We were visiting his neighbors who are members a while back and we decided to knock on his door. He received us very kindly and extraordinarily positively. We set up a return appointment for this past week. As we taught him the steps of the restoration of the gospel we were able to explain according to his understanding on each point. However, one thing stood out to us when we were visiting with him. Since our first visit he had done a faith flip (or turned to a random page to see were the spirit brought him) and the specific scripture he found was Helaman 5:12: And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall. We really like using this scripture as we teach people and it was wonderful to see the spirit lead Mr. Whaley to this scripture. Anyways, other than those things we went to a Dia de Naciones party. It was super fun and the food was fantastic! We ended up having a fun day seeing different cultures and people gathered for the event. Thank you for all you love and support, bless you all!
