Letter dated October 11, 2021

Dear y'all, This week has been filled with really good work, awesome experiences, and all that good stuff. Last Tuesday we did a LOT of passing out flyers for our English Class and generally contacting previously taught friends. However, as I was about to flyer one house, there a large pig sleeping on the doormat blocking my path to the doorway. The picture I took was not very good, but it was a door squatting pig nonetheless. On Wednesday We had our actual English class and only one person showed up... which ended up being fine because we taught him individually the things he needed and then we taught him about the gospel which was great! I also was gifted two jack o'lanterns from Bishop Walker's sons (Bishop Walker is the Bishop of the Commerce Ward). On Thursday, we did MORE English Class Flyers!!!! However, I encountered this awesome 15 foot Skeleton and we taught one of our friends named Miranda. She is awesome and has been really receptive to the gospel. When came on Thursday we checked in to see if she had kept her commitment to read a chapter from the Book of Mormon. Not only had she read the one chapter, but she had read 1 Nephi all the way up to Alma 30!!! WOOOAHAHA!! We continued with lesson two and she is wanting to be baptized in the future. On Saturday we met a man named David from Cuba and talked very impassionately about the need for liberty in his country. It personally made me very thankful for the rights and opportunities we have here in America. Lastly, on Sunday we had a very cool experience. One family we talked to in the week for English Class we had also invited them to our Ward's Spanish group. They actually showed up and it was fantastic! Afterwards we taught them about the restoration of the gospel with our group leader and it was a very uplifting and nice I love you all so much and I hope that everything in your lives go well!! Sincerely, Elder Nicholas Nephi William Schindler
