Letter dated 10 May 2023
Dear yall (for real this time),
My service on the mission has been tremendously epic. I have grown so much and have experienced the greatest things and changes in my life. With out further ado, the week!
Monday
I had dinner with the Lynns and they invited Sawyer to the "wurst meal of my mission." So we had bratwurst. It was fun and I'm glad I got to start my last last week with my "wurst" meal, it was delicious.
Tuesday
We had a great visit with a brother from the ward who struggles to make it to church but was so grateful we took time out of our way to visit with him since he doesn't see very many people typically. We there did a very lengthy service project with was fun, we had to remove the dead grass from a lawn but we were able to get it done on time fortunately. That night we had a good visit with our friend Christine and had a good discussion about being worthy of being baptized and then we had a great call with Paul as well. Overall a pretty good day!
Wednesday
We did a couple visit and a Book of Mormon study, but in more eventful news we helped out a pagan witch (her own words not mine) change her tire... but her lugnuts were stripped so she had to call for some one to come change. All in all though she was very appreciative and blessed us and our future wives (I wasn't too sure if this was a blessing or a curse though since she's a witch 😆)
Thursday
We tried teaching a friend of our with dementia which I didn't realize would be as hard to do as it was but we were still up to the challenge. We ended up helping him around his house instead since he was needing some help. We were then offered some farm eggs from a member and went off tracting by the Spirit. We didn't know where to go so we prayed and started heading to a neighborhood but I got the impression we need to take a right and then a turn came eventually and I knew we needed to stop by. There we met Pam Ryan. We shared the restoration with her and we will be teaching her. She readily accepted the Book of Mormon. She was golden.
We continued again to another place and once again we taught a new friend named Jackson he too accepted the message readily and we will start the lessons. In have found hundreds of people to start teaching but this day felt special. It wasn't too many, but they were genuine in their desire to follow Christ. I loved it.
Friday
We had our final district council and I had everyone give a 2 minute training about their greatest strengths in the missionary work. It was an out there idea but it was really tender and I was glad to see everyone's personality. I gave a training about relying on the spirit correctly and incorrectly which was quite a lot of fun and the Thomases talked about helping families convert to the gospel it was really sweet. Here was everyone else's trainings. Elder Miller: the lord jehovah. Elder Rucker: inviting people to set alarms. Elder Esplin: logical/ teaching simply. Elder Peterson: being an animated teacher. Elder Villafuerte: being bold/ not fearing anyone. Sister Bulkley: teaching to the need. Sister Driscoll: finding and following promptings. Elder Miner: helping people progress. (They were a lot of fun!)
Then I went on exchanges with Elder Peterson who is my mission brother since we had the same trainer! It was so fun and he is such a christlike person. We had a great time teaching and helping those in need. It was great!
Saturday
We had service in the morning and then we visited people all day. Not a single person was available and those people that we talked to were uninterested. It was good to be humbled.
Sunday
We had a wonderful church service and I bore my final testimony to my ward that evening and then my departing testimony that evening, thank to those who were able to see it! I talked about the change Christ has brought to me while in his service. We also taught our friend Kevin and taught the entire Plan of Salvation to him. At the end he said "it makes so much sense". That was a sweet moment. He's getting baptized in the next couple months and I am really excited for him!
Monday
I had my final Spanish lesson that evening after preparation day and it was great we introduced this family we had met to some members. They had been to church in a very long time and it good to get them reconnected to their ward. I didn't speak very much Spanish in my service but I did learn to love the people I finally got to speak with and I love the language.
I then had my last meal in the ward and said goodbye to Sawyer before I left. It was sweet.
Tuesday
Yesterday I woke up and made fried chicken for my apartment as a partinh gift to my fellow missionaries. I will miss Georgia. Then we went to transfers, Elder Miner will be staying and he got Elder Alder which should be fun! I got to say good bye to a lot of mission friends and I am glad they are all doing well. I am going to miss it. I'm tearing up just writing this. All of us out going missionaries had lunch and then we set out to hike Stone Mountain! It was fun and when we got to the top we discussed the sacredness of mountains. We then were told to find a place in the mountain top where we could contemplate and pray. It was sweet. I felt at peace and it felt like I was at a pinnacle of my mission. I looked over the Georgian horizon and it was surreal. The Lord will speak to you on the mountains. Afterward I tried street contacting this one lady and she started bashing our group of missionaries. Goes to show no matter how experienced the person is, they will still receive push back. We then had our final goodbye dinner as missionaries. We laughed, told jokes, and had a good time together. Then Elder Fuhriman and I got our final interviews with President Harris that night and everyone else got interviews Wednesday morning. It was a great interview and I am so happy I served with President Harris, he is amazing.
Wednesday
I am in the Salt Lake Airport and am about to be in Idaho. I proselyted to a lady next to me on my plane in and I am very tired. I will see you all soon. God be with you!
These have been the best two years. I really mean that. I plan to keep my entire life this joyful and be just as serviceable. I have loved it, thank you for all of the support.
Sincerely,
Elder Nicholas Nephi William Schindler

Letter dated 1 May 2023
Dear yall,
This is it. Space, the final frontier (also, its my last week I guess
I will write about more of my lessons this week since I feel like I only share about the crazy ones so I will share most of them in this letter
Tuesday
I felt prompted to reach out to the duces since we had dinner with them and something told me we need to come back to their area so we asked if they needed service. They said yes and through the service we actually met one of their neighbors which was awesome. Hopefully something come of it.
We had a lesson with a member's father and it was awesome because his grandson helped us teach about the restoration and it was very sweet.
We then had an awesome lesson with this guy who hasn't had God emphasized in life very much but he was really interested in learning more with us. Then he dropped us...... I'll live.
We then taught a flames lesson with her friend Christine. Please pray for her as she prepares to be baptized 😎
Wednesday
I went on exchanges with Elder Rucker and we helped this one lady get gas, jump her car, realize her car wasn't starting so the we pushed her car, convened with some members who pulled up out of the blue ad attempted to start the car with superior intelligence about man stuff than Elder Rucker and I, they gave up as well, and then we taught the restoration. Apparently she saw an angel or something that told her her to learn from the sisters but she was too busy before but is now willing to come to church so that was cool. Pray for her daughter, she is not doing well.
I proceeded to eat the most amount of meat my body could handle and the meat sweats were powerful
That night we played Mafia with the youth and I was a policeman. I was then accused of being in the Mafia and I gave this speech to defend my honor,
"Brothers and Sisters of Israel, I have been a stalwart defender of the faith, in truth and light in this community this day. I have also been working as a policeman in thy defense and for thy liberty and justice, please do not kill me this day for you shall be in great peril, but God as my witness I have loved thee even as my Jesus has loved me.
Then, they killed me and they lost.
Thursday
We met with this less active member who we found out is less active due to health reasons and apparently it had been several months since missionaries had stopped by. The reason we stopped by was because we prayed where we should go and he was very appreciative of our visit and we will continue to minister and visit with him. It was sweet.
We had a great lesson with her and she is so elect! She understands the plan of salvation very well and was so excited to share it with her friends. It was awesome.
Friday
At district council I came up with a game on how to represent bringing the spirit into a home. I was the friend/investigator and one missionary was role-playing teaching me. Everyone else drew a card from a stack of Harry Potter uno cards. Whoever drew Harry Potter was chosen to be the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost can only whisper and everyone else is an evil spirit. I then played very loud music and the missionary (elder Miller) had to say the best option he heard about the response, "I am pretty depressed right now". He could only hear the vile responses which ended up with him saying, "you should listen to Juiceworld." (He is a rapper for those unaware). We then redid the roleplay but this time Elder Miller was allowed to turn off the music and pray which would cast away the evil spirits and bring the Holy ghost into the closer to the friend. It was very chaotic but very fun to do! Highly recommend for any Seminary/Sunday School teachers out there.
We then called our friend Paul and it was a super sweet lesson. He is doing great!
Saturday
We built a wall to a chimney for a member. (I feel like a manly dude now
Patricia
Before then we taught this one family that we were about to drop if they didn't answer since has been 3 months since we taught them but then they answered so we got to teach them!
We then visited a brother who had a miracle recovery and he is so solid! He is coming back to church and everything
Vegan lasagna/Garfield destruction
Then we had dinner with this wonderful family and they told us they were vegan but we were having a normal lasagna with meat and cheese and everything. On top of that it was probably the best lasagna I have ever had. After scarfing down a serving I asked about them being vegan. They revealed that the entire lasagna WAS VEGAN WITH FAKE MEAT AND CHEESE AND EVERYTHING!! My inner sense of being a Garfield fan was greatly impressed.
Sunday
On Sunday we were asked to share about missionary experience with the ward and talked about Branly and Jazmin who I met over in Pilgrim Mill. It was fun to share a mission experience and have other's be uplifted by it.
We then taught our friend Kevin and invited him to be baptized and he agreed! He will be praying about a date but it was awesome to see his faith grow so quickly since I first met him. It was awesome!
We then had dinner with the sullivans for my last time and it was really special. They are an awesome family and we got close
Anyways, adios!
Sincerely,
Elder Nicholas Nephi William Schindler
