Letter dated 30 January 2023
Dear y'all,
This week had many trials, many of which were extraordinarily silly in nature. Roll the tape.
Tuesday
We invited a lot of friends to our Book of Mormon study and they all unanimously decided to be busy (not super surprising) but we had a really good discussion about grace with our small group of members.
Wednesday
We had plans and then....
They didn't matter 🙃
In the morning we got called by one of our less active members who had just been evicted from her home and she needed help moving ALL her possessions. We gladly went over and finished packing her truck but she still had a whole lot of stuff that fit into a parking spot and her storage unit was outside of our zone. Because of this we couldn't help her load off her stuff so we called some other Elders to help out. Meanwhile, we were tasked with taking care of her stuff and her dog alone. For six hours. It was a looooooong day.
While taking care of a bunch of random house supplies with a dog and in service clothes on a windy day we looked very homeless and it looked a little depressing. Fortunately we just laughed the entire time and proselyted to every soul that passed us so people began not to walk by us which was kind of funny. It was super cool though because we actually are going to be teaching some of the people we met there! We also jump started a car. Because of this situation though by the time we finished up we did not have lunch so we had 3 very cold and hungry Elders. Fortunately the Guevara family fed us some amazing empanadillas and rice at dinner which was an amazing blessing after a long and cold day.
And then God rewarded us for our efforts almost immediately. The sister ended up coming to church and we got an amazing referral from a bishop in Layton Utah which was a huge blessing after a wonderful day!
Thursday
We had yet another long service project! We were tasked with moving a medical bed over some stairs and then thirty minutes away. It was very heavy but Elder Clancy and I are yoked... to the Savior so it was okay (yoked means strong for all those at home looking through the modern lingo dictionary). Sadly, I rammed it into his leg at one point which was very sad but we finished somewhat timely! We also had some new friends come to Soccer night. This is likely because soccer is more tantalizing than a Book of Mormon study.
Friday
We weekly planned and had Hungry Howies which has become a fan favorite! We also had a few nre nonmembers at volleyball night since volleyball night is also more enticing than Book of Mormon Study.
This night however we also got a referral named Adrienne who wanted to come to church. Spoiler, she actually made it to church and is awesome! More about that on Sunday.
Saturday
We had a great district council and everyone canceled on us. Also, our friend Thomas had to cancel because his Daughter's apartment burned down so please pray for his family.
Sunday
Adrienne made it to church and she is sooooo prepared. Elder Clancy and I performed Gethsemane and the ward loved it! Kya has a synus infection sadly so please pray for her!
Adrienne was so fun to meet because she stayed the entire church service without having met us ever and she loved it. We asked when we could meet and she said Sundays and Mondays work best so we ask for later that same Sunday and she accepted! It was also super cool because she connected with some new members and they offered to host the lesson immediately which was a huuuuggge blessing. We then had lunch with the most darling family named the Satterthwaites. They were so excited and it was so fun sharing a message with them.
Then we had the lesson with Adrienne and she is soooo cool! She has been studying the church for years and actually stole a Book of Mormon from a Marriott Hotel and read up to 2 Nephi (let's go Marriott!). She then explained that the reason she investigated the church was because something about the Plan of Salvation so we had an amazing lesson with her and the Lees about it and she wants to keep coming to church and know if it is true!
This week was so cool and although parts were a little tough I am constantly reminded that this isn't my area, my mission, or my work, this is all in God's hands.
Have a good week, I am so excited for even more miracles coming up!
Sincerely,
Elder Nicholas Nephi William Schindler

Dear Y'all,
Let's get into it.
Tuesday
We did a lot of finding and met some interested people that we are hoping to get in with. In the evening we had a book of Mormon study where a recent convert was spouting some apostasy about being perfect and not needing to repent or change. Twas interesting.
Wednesday
We put our friend Thomas on date for February 11th! We are super excited for him and he is excited to work towards this goal!
We also had an amazing meeting with our wonderful ward mission leader Brother Sotto. He is fantastic and really willing to help us in the work.
Thursday
We basically just weekly planned and practiced some music for zone conference
Friday
We had an absolutely crazy zone conference this go around. We currently have a mission baptismal goal for the month of April of...
*drumroll please*
🎉100 hundred baptisms!!!🎉
This is particularly impressive because the highest amount of baptisms we have ever had in a month was 25. Pray for the wonderful people down here in Georgia, they need it!
Also I killed it at volleyball night so thats cool.
Saturday
I gave an awesome training about teaching simply and it went super well! We did roleplays about answering deep questions imply to 9 year olds which was a fun exercise. Also Elder Clancy is an awesome district leader.
Sunday
We attended a baptism in the morning and I gave a talk to introduce myself to the ward. It was super cool because after church we met with a the Crawfords. Sister Crawford is a member but her 12 year daughter has not been baptized yet. We talked to her about baptism and she is excited to work towards her baptismal date of February the 25th!!! It was awesome!
We also had dinner the Miller family and they fed us sooooo well. A little too well honestly since I gained about 3 pounds from the meal so make sure not to move to the south if you are starting a diet
Please pray for Thomas and Kya for the baptismal dates, we are so excited for them!!!
God be with yall,

Dear y'all,
I think that since this is my 80th week writing emails I can say that I'm an old missionary so that's new.
This week was weird but there were still good moments
Monday
Elder Clancy got real sick so Elder Scott and did a ton of contacts which was a lot of fun!
Tuesday
Elder Clancy was still sick so that was tough. We made EVEN MOOOOOREE calls which was kinda fun but we were all pretty excited to get back in the action.
We also accidentally blocked ourselves out of our washing room since our dryer moved in front of the entry way and we had to move our dryer while our door could only open three inches wide. After a lot of pushing, lifting, and praying Elder Clancy and I got swole enough to move it. It took 30 minutes. That was the most eventful part of the day.
Wednesday
On Wednesday we knocked an entire neighborhood. Not a single person wanted a return appointment but we were undeterred.
Thursday
Then we had tornado warnings all day with no tornados so we were very conflicted about whether we should head out or not. We decided to start working and then our mission president told us to stay home so once again we were stuck inside.
Friday
We had a visit with a returning member and it went well. Almost toooo well....
He offered us apple juice that tasted... funny. I decided it was nothing to worry about so I kept drinking. As we were going back home for the night I started to feel a little sick. I decided to sleep it off.
(To be continued...)
Saturday
I woke up the next day with a headache and a stomach ache. We texted and asked the brother about the juice. Apparently he poured it out after we left because he had left it out for several weeks and had gone bad. Fortunately I was not I got over it really quickly and we wstill had a normal schedule! It was pretty funny because I honestly thought my juice was spiked and that I was hung over but in actuality drinking bad juice just makes you feel bad.
Sunday
We had interviews with President Harris and we also God someone to church who wants to be baptized soon!
Sometimes you just need to have a tough time to have a miracle happen.
Have a good one, this week I get to have zone conference so that should be great!
God bless!

Dear y'all,
Transfers were crazy! We had about 4 hours of driving to different areas and it was genuinely hectic. It was on the other hand it was very fun and I am so excited to work in the Butler Creek ward!
Monday
This was my last day in Pilgrim Mill and Fowler Park so said some last goodbyes to friends and members. It was surreal saying goodbye to Elder Lind and Elder Elmer.
Tuesday
Like I said we drove for about 4 hours first to the mission office, then to my new apartment, then to the Rome (GA) to get a bed, and then back to the apartment to drop off said bed. Sadly we didn't have enough room in the car for a bed frame so I have been sleeping on the floor. Fun times.
In the evening we met with our bishop and talked about the needs of the ward. A lot of the ward is inactive (only about 40 people come to church) so we will be helping the ward stay strong while we are here.
Wednesday
I went on exchanges with the YSA Elders (Elder and Horne and Elder Blake) which was awesome! We had a great time and found a ton of people. So many people are just down to listen here which is a very nice change of pace (most people in Fowler Park and Pilgrim Mill are pretty closed off to the message for whatever reason)
There was also this crazy miracle that we had where we were looking for some members I hadn't met and then we started talking to this guy on the street and Elder Horne asked him if he knew about the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints. He promptly told us that he had been baptized in the church a few years ago and moved in just a month ago and that no one from the Church knew he was living in Georgia.. He took us in and he gave us his information in order to move his records. It was super cool and he wants us to come back and reactivate him. So cool!
We also taught a young recent convert and his nonmember grandpa the message of the restoration that night which was really sweet.
Thursday
Elder Clancy had a very long district leader Council while Elder Scott and I called and texted people. We had a funny member meal and played soccer. I also realized soccer is a lot less fun when you add tackling into the format which sadly is the case in the ward soccer night.
Friday
We had Weekly Planning (which took so long that we had to keep pushing it back sadly). We taught this amazing lesson with our friend Clark and we almost put him on baptismal date because mid lesson he recognized that God was telling him that Jospeh Smith and Russell M Nelson were the prophets of God. We then got his address and he lives in the other ward sooooo that was tough.
That evening we had the most competitive game of volleyball I've been in with a lot of swearing and other aggressive stuff so we are thinking of putting the brakes on sports night at the moment at the church.
Saturday
Literally everyone canceled that day (nothing else really happened besides we tried finishing weekly planning and writing our weekly missionary coordination email).
Sunday
We had church which was great and Elder Clancy and I will be giving talks and a musical number soon so I am excited for that!
Lastly, Elder Clancy is currently sick so here we go again 🥲
I am excited for this week, I hope everyone is doing great!
Sincerely,
Elder Nicholas Nephi William Schindler
Ps Elder Lind cut my hair nice so I am rocking a Buzzcut till I can grow out of it

Dear y'all,
Since Christmas it has been kind of interesting with few people wanting to meet and my companions and I caught a pretty nasty bug so once again I was quarantined for new years 🙃
We did get to teach our dry cleaner the gospel and he accepted a Book of Mormon. He did not give us his number when we asked so we will hope for the best.
On Saturday after getting over the bug we had a fun new years eve full of district council, attending a baptism, weekly planning, and going to dinner. And then, to start us off the right way for the new year our companionship got sick again on the first. Yay.
I do have an important announcement. I will be spending the next 6 weeks (and most likely 4 months) in the Butler Creek Ward in the Cartersville stake. I am excited but it is strange knowing the next time I pack my bags I will be transferring back to Tetonia Idaho. I miss you guys a lot but I am also excited for these last 4 months. Here's to an amazing year!
God be with you,
Elder Nicholas Nephi William Schindler
