Dear yall,
This week was a huge testament to the fact that the work of salvation always prevails against anything. Since last Monday my illness continued on through Wednesday. Quite frankly I was done. I was tired of being stuck inside and feeling terrible all of the time and I really pushed myself to try to work anyways. After about an hour of non stop sneezing throughout street contacts and visits my companions recommended we go back home to let me recuperate. I decided I would try to be smart about it and I told them we would do a few more visits where I would stay in sight and sound of them while I was in our car and they would knock doors and talk to some people we had tried to meet with before. The only thing they couldn't do was step inside the house otherwise we would be breaking rules. This was also a good opportunity for me to pray for them the ENTIRETY OF THE LESSON!!
Although it was a little bit of a chaotic set up with me sitting in the car mumbling incantations while my companions preached, it was actually really effective so I am thankful for the power of prayers. The next day I was still rather ill so my companions just sent me to bed so we didn't have to prolong our car knocking habits.
Then Thursday rolled around. I finally felt healthy (and healthful -Merrill Wilson). It was the first day in a long time that we could finally go out to properly work. We prayed about where to go and within the first hour of proselyting we found 7 new people who received a lesson from us and a return appointment. Typically we only meet around 7 interested people in an entire week let alone a single hour. Then we kept of finding. By the end of the week we found 17 new people while only working properly 4 out of 7 days. It was a wonderful thing to see and experience. We as a companionship offered prayers of gratitude the entire evening and it was one of my favorite moments of my mission. I love my God.
On Friday we met with the Assistants, Sister Training Leaders, and Mission President as trainers and trainees to make sure everyone is adjusting to missionary life. It was fun to see so many mission friends as well as seeing just how much Elder Elmer has grown as a missionary. Afterward we had interviews with President Harris and he asked us to share with him a message of gratitude beforehand and to extend to him an invitation. I shared with him how we should boast of our God instead of ourselves because of everything that he has given us. I tried to come with something original for the invitation so I invited him to do something grateful for a member of his family very few people would have thought about. His dog named Ollie. He laughed about it and said that we would do it. Mission accomplished!
Yesterday was great since I finally got to partake of the sacrament after a break due to stake conference and I felt that the messages were really good for me to listen to.
This week was great.
Keep it up! I am sorry to hear Weston obtained my sickness, so far the only cure I have found for this ailment is not making gravy bread. It will make it worse.
Love you guys!

Dear yall,
This was a dark week in my service as a missionary. I got, reeeeeeeeaaaall sick with the influenzas. Here is the week.
On Halloween I dressed up as Dwight Schrute and Elder Lind dressed up as doctor Duffenschmerts
Tuesday was a really good finding day! We found a handful of new people to teach and had a good conversation with a member family about inviting one of our investigators to come to church more often. Hopefully everything works out on that front
Then, the dreaded Wednesday illness struck. I was out cold most of the day and at night I got hopped up on cough syrup. All in all, not great
On Thursday fortunately another district member was also very sick so we teamed up for the day and stayed away from the healthy people together while our different companions did missionary work. Shoutout to Elder Witte for being a beast!
On Friday, I started to feel better! We had a service project moving rocks for a brother in the ward named Brother Barron and it was going great.... until Elder Lind left his wallet and his phone on the top of his truck while he drove away. We frantically went to go look for his lost cargo but to no avail. When Brother Barron came back Elder Lind's phone was miraculously still on the truck! His wallet was unsurprisingly not on the truck however. We decided to not be sketchy with a licenseless driver and had Elder Elmer drive since I'm too smooth of an operator 😎 Then, hours later Elder Lind got a message from a man who found his wallet and we met up and it was super cool to see our prayers were answered about finding it! We also will be teaching the same man next week which is exciting!
On Saturday we finished the service project and were rewarded with Panda Express. We then had an amazing weekly planning session and had a soul bearing companionship inventory. It was nice to get some things off of our chests! Then we cooked some steaks we had been gifted from a Brother Shippen Bushell for changing his light bulb and watched stake conference with our steaks. Also we had stake conference on zoom!
Then, travesty struck again....
I got real sick yesterday and taught my companions how to make scratch sausage gravy. Then I made too much scratch sausage gravy so I turned it into some gravy bread. Do not make gravy bread, it is a mistake only fools make.
Anways, have a good one. I could use some prayers since I'm still kind of sick
Love you guys!
